Police Narrative:
On 02/09/07 at 22:34 hours, officer(s) Overly () and Young (1104) responded to a Special at Brooks // One Place and the Reporting Officer advised Was conducting a Blue Crush Saturation in the area of Brooks and One Place. Officer observed the suspect suspect driving a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire with TN tags 675LKC east bound on Brooks near I55. The tag on the car was hanging loosely to the right with one screw fastened to the top left side of the tag on the back of the car. The tag was ran and it came back on a 1976 Oldsmobile two door. The suspect suspect was a passenger in the right front seat of the vehicle. Officer stopped the vehicle on the Mapco parking lot at Brooks and One Place. As officer approached the car, the passenger Wilkes appeared nervous making furtive movements reaching underneath the front right seat as if he was hiding something. The suspect Brooks was asked for a drivers license and registration. The suspect Brooks advised he did not have a license nor the registration. The suspect Brooks was asked to exit the vehicle and was detained. Officer then approached the passenger Wilkes as he sat in the front passenger seat. Officer observed a green leafy substance residue appearing to be marijuana lying in plain view in the floorboard between the suspect Wilkes feet. The suspect Wilkes was asked to exit the vehicle. Officer detained the suspect Wilkes. Officer then observed two small clumps of a green leafy substance appearing to be marijuana underneath the passenger seat where the suspect was seen reaching. Officer then observed a clear plastic bag containing 24 orange pills appearing to be ecstasy pills underneath the driver seat. The suspects were arrested. Officer searched the suspects vehicle incident to arrest and located a large clear plastic bag inside a black bag containing a green leafy substance appearing to be marijuana in the trunk of the vehicle. The suspect Wilkes spontaneously stated they were selling the ecstasy pills for $10 a piece. The marijuana tested positive and weighed 443 g TGW at 201 Poplar at the Property and Evidence Room and was witnessed by Officer O'Brien IBM . The ecstasy tested positive and was also tagged at the Property and Evidence Room. The suspects were arrested and taken to 201 Poplar. Lt Newsom 206D made scene with officers and advised.
