Police Narrative:
On 02/09/07 at 19:05 hours, officer(s) Weatherly, M () and Takashima, G (8703) responded to a Shots fired/ Mata Bus hit at Hawkins Mill/Overton Crossing and victimWilliams advised He was driving the Mata Bus #903 N/B on Overton Crossing and made a right turn to go E/B on Hawkins Mill and while making the turn he heard 4 shots fired and heard glass shattering on the driverss side of the bus. victimWilliams advised he saw 3 young M/Bs (15-19 Y.O.A) standing on the NorthEast side of the intersection (Hawkins Mill/Overton Crossing) and victimWilliams recalled seeing one of the subjects raising his right arm but couldnt see if there was a gun in his hand. victimWilliams described that subject as a M/B, 15-19,dark skinned Y.O.A, 5-6", 140LBS, wearing a white hat, dark green hooded jacket, black pants, white tennis shoes. The bus had 2 passengers on it at the time of the victim victimBall & victimHughes. Both passengers were seated on the drivers side of the bus and both were seated beside a window which had been shot at. Neither passenger was injured nor was the driver injured. Passengers advised they heard 4 shots ring out but didnt see where the shots came from. R/Os checked the area for shell casings and none were located, also the bus was checked for rounds and none were located. R/os observed 4 windows which were shattered but still intact and each window had a impact pt where a small calibre round hit but didnt penetrate. MATA supervisor Yuri Chambers (ph 722-7100) made the scene and estimated total damages at $1070. The MATA bus is a 2001 NOVA make (V.I.N 2NVYL82S11000351). Lt. Oliver 106C was called and advised. R/O Takashima took photos w/ PDA and photos were emailed.
