Police Narrative:
On Thursday Feb 8 2007 members of the MPD ocu drug response team 7 were in the area of 640 safari checking a mainline drug complaint when they observed defendant and another male outside drinking. Detectives checked defendant and his brother out to determine whey they were outside drinking. When James patted down defendant he had a large knife in a black sheath on his right side. Detective secured the knife and detective Potts continued the frisk. det. Potty found in his left front pants pocket in a piece of plastic one large crack cocaine rock which weighed 1.3 tgw. Det. Johnson had no smoking paraphernalia that would indicating that he was smoking crack. Defendant didn't tell detectives that he smoked crack. The knife had a blade of 7 inches. The crack tested positive at the p/e room located at 201 Poplar. Defendant Johnson was arrested and transported to 201 Poplar. The knife was also tagged.
