Police Narrative:
On 11/01/06 at 17:47 hours, officer(s) D. Flynn (2499) responded to a at 5780 E Shelby Dr and advised complainant arrived a work, 5780 E. Shelby Dr. At approximately 1430 hours this date. He parked his 1988 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham in front of the business entrance. When he was leaving at approx. 1630 hours this date he found his vehicle had been taken. complainant believes that he had locked the vehicle. There was no glass in the area in which the vehicle had been parked. complainant does not know the tag on the vehicle but advised that it was a Fayette County, TN tag. complainant had no paperwork nor insurance on the vehicle and was unable to provide a VIN. The business has digital surveillance in the front and rear of the business. There was no video in the front where the vehicle was taken from. However, they have some video of the vehicle in the rear of the business along with an identical looking Cadillac. The video was unavailable at the time of this report. The video does not show the suspects or tag numbers on either vehicle. The video will be available at a later date. complainant was advised to get some paperwork on the vehicle and contact MPD for follow-up and entry into NCIC. A non-verified broacast was issued at approx. 1805 hours thid date.Note: complainant advised that the title and current registration was in the glovebox of the vehicle.
